Ryan Reynolds’ fake Amazon review of his own gin company is as glorious as you’d expect

TwitterFacebook

Even when Ryan Reynolds is blatantly promoting his own stuff, we still can’t get mad at him.

He just does it so damn well.

Reynolds has previously advertised Aviation Gin — the company he’s owned since early 2018 — with the help of both Hugh Jackman and Andy King (aka the Fyre festival blowjob guy).

And now he’s writing his own reviews of the stuff.

I loved this review of Aviation Gin someone sent me after I…

Master coding on the cheap: This Python bootcamp is on sale for $10

TwitterFacebook

TL;DR: This exhaustive online class covers the ins and outs of Python, a popular programming language, and it’s on sale right now for just $9.99.

The fact that programming classes are now required for many elementary and high school students is enough to make any coding-illiterate millennial feel… well, sort of inadequate. As if we didn’t have enough to stress about already — see: the bleak housing market, avocado recalls, the general collapse of modern society — the youths are…

Xbox Game Pass players on PC won’t need Xbox Live Gold for online games

TwitterFacebook

Five words a reporter never wants to hear during an interview: “That’s a really good question.”

It’s something I was told multiple times during a chat at E3 2019 with Liz Hamren, Corporate Vice President of Gaming Experiences and Platforms at Microsoft; and Jason Beaumont, program manager for Xbox Game Pass. I always appreciate the ego boost, but “That’s a really good question” is often code for “I need a minute to properly frame the non-answer I’m about to offer you.” Either that, or “Let’s…

Billy Porter did Broadway karaoke in the Tony’s commercial break and it was breathtakingly good

TwitterFacebook

What do celebrities do during the commercial break at televised awards ceremonies? Well, if this video is anything to go by, it looks like they grab a microphone, pick a Broadway song, and they take to the stage.

During the Tony’s commercial break, James Corden enlisted Billy Porter to do karaoke — and he chose the song “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” from the Broadway musical Gypsy. True to form, it was nothing short of spectacular.

Don’t take my word for it, though… Read…

Apple’s macOS Catalina fixes the most frustrating thing about Dark Mode

TwitterFacebook

When Apple introduced a system-wide Dark Mode in macOS Mojave, I was happy, because I’m one of those people who are prepared to squint and hurt their eyes just to have a cool-looking desktop (kidding; it also saves battery life).

But Dark Mode in Mojave has a glaring omission — there was no option to automatically turn it on and off, depending on time of day. Help came in the form of third-party apps, but honestly, this should’ve been an option from the get go.

In Catalina, the next…
