Two years have passed since Snap Inc first struck a deal with Baidu that authorized China’s largest search engine to be a reseller of Snapchat ads for companies in Greater China as well as Japan and South Korea, where Baidu runs a portfolio of mobile apps.

A video surfaced this weekend of a moose in Anchorage, Alaska just chilling next to an oscillating sprinkler. According to the video’s description the moose was “sprinkler hopping from yard to yard” before finally settling down, staying hydrated and getting in a nice soak.

The decade’s most important novel is your summer must-read

TwitterFacebook

This is Ode To, a weekly column where we share the stuff we’re really into in hopes that you’ll be really into it, too.

In 2019, escapist beach reading ain’t what it used to be.

Sure, you could bring a tangled whodunnit or a twisty YA romance paperback on your summer vacation. But with the world on fire, millions of species winking out of existence, and climate change barreling towards us like the unwanted approach of September, those kinds of reads may start to feel a little bit like…

How to shrink your carbon footprint when you travel

TwitterFacebook

When I fly from New York City to Denver for the Fourth of July, I will be able to spend my time at cruising altitude reflecting on the fact that I’ll be helping melt nearly 14,000 pounds of glacier ice, courtesy of the 430 kilograms of carbon dioxide my trip will emit.

Other than feel guilty or stay home, what’s a prospective traveler to do?

Clearly staying home isn’t good advice: In 2018, the tourism industry grew by 3.9 percent, and the sector is also responsible for 8 percent of global…
