Snapchat announces new shows from Serena Williams, Arnold Schwarzenegger and others

Snapchat just announced that it’s making shows with big names like Serena Williams, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kevin Hart, as well as online stars like Emma Chamberlain, Loren Gray, Rickey Thompson, Baby Ariel and FaZe Banks.

Snapchat launched its original content efforts two years ago, and today it’s unveiling a new program called Creator Shows. As initially announced in the Hollywood Reporter, these will be first-person shows designed around individual creators.

The Mondo art house always brings out the big guns for annual San Diego Comic Con gatherings, and 2019 is no exception. 

This one’s for the Metal Gear Solid fans. Or really, these two. In addition to a poster featuring the artwork of Sachin Teng, there’s a first-time-on-vinyl soundtrack release for the 1998 PlayStation game, with some sharp-looking packaging that’s exclusive to SDCC.

Since The Handmaid’s Tale began to broaden its scope beyond Margaret Atwood’s existing novel, the nefarious world of Gilead has grown ever wider and more threatening. 

That includes new characters in addition to new locations like the dreaded Colonies. Season 2 introduced Bradley Whitford as Commander Joseph Lawrence, an enigmatic architect of Gilead’s fabric who excuses Emily (Alexis Bledel) from the dreaded Ceremony and ultimately helps her escape to freedom in Canada.

It’s Memorial Day and Google is doing its part to encourage users to remember those who’ve died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

All day long, Google’s logo on its homepage will be posted in gray. And starting at 3 p.m. locally, the official National Moment of Remembrance, the entire desktop version of the page will turn gray. Users will also be able to play “Taps,” the bugle call performed at Armed Forces memorials and funerals.
