NASA imagines a 1969 webpage for the Apollo 11 landing

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 touched down on the surface of Earth’s moon. Now, 50 years later, NASA has imagined what the space mission’s website would have looked like.

It’s a cute tie-in for the U.S. space agency’s ongoing 50th anniversary celebration of the moon landing. The “website” is really more of a screenshot mock-up. It doesn’t really have 1969 internet vibes because there was no internet in 1969. But it does look like an old-ass landing page from the World Wide Web.

Once brands Naruto run headfirst into the latest meme, you know it’s officially over. 

Over the past few days, brands have been trying to find their way into the parody Facebook event that involves over 1 million people planning to storm the military base Area 51, which is synonymous with alien conspiracies. “If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens,” the event description read.

Twitter returns after an hour-long outage

After an hour of sweet freedom, the world has been returned to the grasp of Twitter .

At about 2:50 pm ET, the desktop and mobile site were down, displaying a “Something is technically wrong” error. The app was also not working. The site returned at about 3:45 pm ET, but took a few minutes to regain full functionality.

Twitter’s status page said little more than it was an “active incident.” A spokesperson for Twitter confirmed the outage but referred us to the status page.
