Jake Paul’s attempt at calling out ‘cyberbully’ Cody Ko backfired beautifully

TwitterFacebook

Jake Paul, a 22-year-old millionaire who built a career out of peddling merch to children and being loud on the internet, took a brave stance against cyberbullying by calling out a reaction vlogger who made fun of him a few times.

Fellow YouTuber Cody Ko is known for making videos reacting to cringey content, from ASMR influencers eating deodorant to Christian women who slut shame others in the name of the Lord. He’s posted several videos criticizing Jake Paul for being a generally terrible…

Teen decorates grad cap with QR code that honors those killed in school shootings

TwitterFacebook

Graduation season has arrived, which means it’s time for seniors to personalize their caps.

Many take the tradition of decorating grad caps as an opportunity to showcase a witty quote about student debt or reference a beloved television show, but Gina Warren, an 18-year-old from Ashville, Ohio, used her cap to send a serious message about gun violence in schools.

Warren placed a large QR code atop her graduation cap that sends anyone who scans it to a list of high school students in the U.S….

How to talk to kids about climate change without scaring them

TwitterFacebook

When my 4-year-old daughter discovered the documentary series Blue Planet II, thanks to a relative who shares her love of marine life, I was thrilled that she wanted to watch it instead of animated standbys like The Octonauts and Llama Llama.

I counted it as a parenting victory: My preschooler liked science and exploration and David Attenborough’s voice. When things got real and one sea creature ruthlessly ate another, I explained that it was an example of the food chain. Her grimace…

Professor keeps a hilarious list of slang terms he learns from students

TwitterFacebook

Nothing is more cringe-inducing than when your professor (or any adult, really) tries get hip with the kids and sprinkles some totally rad teen lingo into their everyday lectures.

That’s why one professor goes the extra mile to avoid stepping into “How do you do, fellow kids?” territory. Twitter user @mewtailv2 posted a picture of a document their sociology professor created of new slang terms he’s learned from his students, titled the “Callahan’s Generation Z Dictionary.”

Watch Leia rescue Han in one badass minute in animated ‘Star Wars’ short

TwitterFacebook

It’s one of the most iconic rescues in cinema, but you haven’t seen it like this.

In the latest of Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures series, a collection of super short, kid-friendly versions of iconic Star Wars scenes, we’re whipping through the rescue of all-round scoundrel Han Solo by his badass love, Princess Leia Organa.

Although Han dropped the whole “I know,” bullshirt on Leia before he was frozen in carbonite on Bespin and taken to Jabba the Hut’s palace on Tatooine, she’s…

Apple shuts down screen limiting apps, but its own version is flawed

TwitterFacebook

With Apple’s iOS 12 arrival in September, iPhone users saw “Screen Time” features make their way to  phone screens to counter-intuitively help them spend less time on their phones. But Apple’s built-in phone addiction fighting tool isn’t necessarily the best way to decrease screen time.

Although users could finally track phone and specific app usage while also limiting the amount of time spent on the phone and in apps, it didn’t instantly eliminate the problem. For parents, it offered a way…
