‘Game of Thrones’ to turn filming locations into decked-out tourist attractions

If you’ve been to Northern Ireland to see where Game of Thrones films – well, you’re going again. HBO announced Monday that Thrones‘ Northern Irish filming locations will be reopened as fully outfitted tourist attractions as the show concludes in 2019.

Airbnb has called off a contest inviting people to sleep over at the Great Wall of China, following backlash over the proposal.

Announced last week, the competition dubbed “Night at the Great Wall” would let four winners stay overnight at the UNESCO World Heritage site in September, as part of an effort to “bring Chinese culture to life” and “promote sustainable tourism to China.”

Blue Origin launches rocket to space in ‘extreme’ test of the crew capsule

From its desolate West Texas launchpad, Jeff Bezos’ rocket company Blue Origin launched another reusable rocket into space, and then successfully landed both the rocket booster and the large-windowed crew capsule.

Blue Origin used this launch to test an abort of the capsule in space, should anything go wrong during a real crewed flight. (Those flights could launch as soon as 2019, according to some estimates.)
